Friday, January 30th · 6:30 PM
Why?
A bunch of friends local to LIC want to run a lot of miles in January. What is a few more miles, a few more friends, and a lot more elevation when already are stupid enough to want to do this anyway.
Is there Prize Support?
There is no prize support expected at this time.
Does it cost anything?
This is a free event there is no cost for this event blood sweat and tears optional*
10 laps is less than a full marathon.
Zig-zag all the way up and down a few times and I'm sure you'll get there. 10 full laps must be run, how you get the last .2 is up to you.
Is the bridge closed for this event?
The bridge is still open to pedestrians as normal during the event.
How can relay teams submit their times?
Relay teams must submit one activity file (preferably strava), trading off a shared device/watch between athletes is the recommended way to achieve a single recorded activity.
How do I join a relay team?
Simply show up, meet people, and ask if anyone wants to split part of the course with you. Or feel free to gaslight some friends to run with you and bring them with you.
Is the a relay handoff zone?
Wow you are all putting a lot more effort in to this than I thought. Trade off wherever and as many times as you want. As long as the activity contains 10 full laps of the bridge its a valid file.
Is there a time cutoff?
No. But that doesn't guarantee cheering crowds at 4am if you're walking it.
Will there be photos?
I have reached out to individuals who take photos but none are planned at this time, if you are a photographer and want to come take photos and make them available to athletes then reach out to the team.
